Room D 2015

In Room D, artist Roel Heremans elaborates even more on an interactive imagination composition as an art work in which 8 different audience members with headphones are being asked to close their eyes and imagine specific things.

Once in a while, they open their eyes and change position on a grid with the other audience members. The group constellation and the specific imagination and looking instructions are balanced and generate a moment of awe.

During the work, each visitor represents a different color for another visitor. They become explorers of their own minds, venturing through the landscapes of their thoughts and emotions. Now and then, they open their eyes, shifting positions on the grid, creating unexpected face-to-face encounters with fellow participants.

The delicate balance of group constellation and imaginative prompts leads to moments of awe,
where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur.

Room D becomes a living canvas, transformed by the interactions of its participants. Observers become entranced witnesses to this unfolding symphony of thoughts, emotions, and creativity. Within the confines of Room D, a profound connection is forged between artist, audience, and the depths of the human mind.
