Roel Heremans (1990, lives and works between Brussels and Stockholm) is a transdigital artist exploring the intersections of art, science, AI ethics, and neurotechnology, often in relation to video game culture and interactive systems.
He composes sonorous fragments that activate imagination and introspection, inviting participants to experience a dialogue between body, data, and consciousness. Through multi-layered installations and philosophical works, Heremans explores how sound, attention, and bio data can become tools for self-reflection in the age of artificial intelligence. His practice, rooted in interactive encounters, also extends to video and works on paper.
Recent projects such as The NeuroRight Arcades and Hemispherium: 7 Paradoxes investigate the future of human rights in relation to AI, mental privacy, and digital identity, positioning Heremans among the key European artists engaging with NeuroRights and ethical technology.
As a regular public speaker and host of television, radio, and conference programs, Heremans connects diverse audiences around the world. His works have been presented at Ars Electronica (AT), Science Gallery Monterrey (MX), K11 Foundation, Hong Kong (HK), Sónar Festival, Barcelona (ES), Fiber Festival, Amsterdam (NL), Art Dubai (AE), and Siemens Sanat Gallery, Istanbul (TR), among others.
