Duet D/E/F explores the concept of creating a perpetuum mobile driven by the recurring personal idea of necessity. Two visitors receive headphones and can initiate Duet D, Duet E, or Duet F by pressing a red, green, or blue button on the wall.
As they listen, a voice invites them to close their eyes and use their imagination to create images and mental reconstructions. Each Duet features distinct compositions that interact with one another, enhancing the overall experience through timed touch and engagement.
In Duet F, visitors reflect on past needs and the choices that have shaped who they are today. Duet E prompts them to consider what is necessary in the present and how it can be represented in form or color. In Duet D, the focus shifts to a constant falling, encouraging participants to contemplate what lies ahead.
By examining the boundaries of VR, AR, and XR, the installation emphasizes the intersection of analog and digital spaces, as well as the relationship between personal intuition and other in space. At the end of each composition, visitors are invited to restart the experience, establishing a new subject of ‘need’ and creating a potentially infinite loop of exploration.
