Room D

2015

Room D features an interactive imagination composition by artist Roel Heremans.

In this work, 8 different audience members with headphones are asked to close their eyes and imagine specific things. Occasionally, they open their eyes and change positions on a grid with the other audience members. The group setup and the imagination instructions create moments of wonder.

During the experience, each visitor represents a different color for another visitor. They explore their own minds, navigating through their thoughts and feelings. When they open their eyes, they shift positions on the grid, leading to unexpected face-to-face encounters with fellow participants.

Room D becomes a living canvas, shaped by the interactions of its participants. Observers witness this unfolding mix of thoughts, emotions, and creativity. Within Room D, a strong connection is formed between the artist, the audience, and the depths of the human mind.
